Prepare products to Amazon’s requirements
- FNSKU label on every unit, poly-bags and suffocation warnings where required.
- Amazon carton labels generated in Seller Central before departure.
- Respect Amazon’s carton weight and size limits for Europe (around 23 kg per carton) — always check the current version.
At our China warehouse, FBA labelling costs €0.15 per unit and €0.30 per carton, with visual checks and photos.
Cost per unit: an example
1,000 units of 500 g in 20 cartons (1.92 m³, 520 kg): rail groupage (€441.60), FBA labels (€156), customs clearance (€79) and Amazon appointment delivery (€49) come to €725.60 in total, about €0.73 per unit. By air the same shipment costs about €3,092, or €3.09 per unit — so use air for launches and rail or sea for restocks.
Customs and delivery
Amazon does not act as importer: you need an EORI number and, to sell in France, a French VAT number. Our customs service clears goods in your name, and we book and deliver your Amazon appointment for €49.
Regulatory obligations
- Extended producer responsibility (EPR) registration in France for packaging, electrical goods, batteries, textiles, furniture and more.
- GPSR: since 13 December 2024 an EU-based economic operator must be responsible for each product, with manufacturer details on the product and the listing.
- CE marking and technical documentation where applicable — see our compliance guide.
Frequently asked questions
Who applies the FNSKU labels?
Your supplier can if you send the files, but quality varies. Our warehouse checks and applies labels before departure to avoid refusals in France.
Can I ship mixed-SKU cartons?
Amazon accepts them under the conditions set out in Seller Central; we recommend single-SKU cartons whenever quantities allow.
